Emerging artist Hannah Murray examines the fanciful, fleeting and inevitable fragility of ‘Paradise’ in her latest exhibition Death in Paradise. Inspired by traditional 16th Century Dutch still life paintings or vanitas, Death in Paradise explores this duality through mixed media works on vintage wallpaper. Imbued with personal myth, meaning and symbolism the work is as much a celebration of place as it is a reflection on universal themes of life, death, transience, mortality, longing and loss.
