KickArts is entering an exciting phase of development!
The Centre of Contemporary Arts (CoCA) Cairns, where KickArts is located is currently being upgraded through a $5 million Queensland Government investment.
A revitalised CoCA will strengthen the local arts sector and help expand cultural tourism in Far North Queensland, opening up new performance and creative opportunities, and providing rich cultural experiences to audiences.
The current project timeline sees the centre close for building works in September 2018, with an expected reopening of September 2019.
During this period KickArts will operate an interim program including a shop front, from the School of Arts building at 93-105 Lake Street, Cairns. Our interim program offers KickArts members, artists and shop suppliers the opportunity to work with us in developing new retail products, accessing new markets, and upskilling creative practices through a series of staged workshops.
KickArts programs will continue to activate the renovated CoCA. We are looking forward to welcoming a new phase of the Cairns creative ecology with you!
